About A Tailored Suit

The idea for A Tailored Suit started in December of 2004 when one of the company's founders, Antonio, needed a suit for an interview. Traveling throughout East Europe, he was unable to locate a suitable fitting off-the-rack jacket and was forced to adjust his travel plans to New York so that he had a few days to shop for a suit before the appointed time. It was on the flight home to the U.S. that he wondered why couldn't you design a suit and have it built to your specs completely online - wouldn't this save a lot of time and hassle? If you can order a jet online, why not a custom hand-made suit?

Fast forward three years: Antonio is inspired by the numerous small businesses he has been consulting with. These companies are making quality products, providing excellent customer service, treating their employees with dignity and respect, and making a profit. Wanting to create a business that provides value and knowing that the online custom clothier business model has the chance to revolutionize the bespoke industry, Antonio and a couple brave partners (one a Zegna Certified Tailor) draw up a business plan. Within a few months they have assembled a team of custom clothing artists, financial advisors, style writers, and web developers. In the fall of 2007 ATailoredSuit.com was born, with the mission of the company being simple:

Provide men the tools to educate themselves and build the clothing that best complements their individual style.

From this mission was built the foundation of this website, and upon this idea we draw our strength to serve you better than any men's clothing store out there. Because we don't want to just sell you a piece of clothing - Our goal is to help you become the man you know yourself to be.
